Affects of social class discrimination on health

While I was researching, I found an article about how social class discrimination affects teenagers health. Dr. Thomas Fuller- Roswell conducted an experiment including examining 252 seventeen year old students from upstate New York who enrolled in the Cornell University study of rural poverty. He found out that the poorer the teen, the more discrimination the teen faced and the worse their health was. Most of this came from stress. Discrimination is responsible for about 13% of the negative effects of poverty on health. To try and solve this problem, Fuller suggested talking more openly about these once taboo issues. He says talking about it in schools and in the media is the beginning of becoming more comfortable talking about it in every day life. People normally feel uncomfortable with this because we are supposed to be a classless country, but unfortunately that's not the truth.

Hi my names Nicole and I decided to blog about social class issues. Because of all the controversy with how tax laws  effect the different social classes, this topic interested me. I want to find out more about the details of what has been happening and share the information that I find with all of you. Thank you for reading.
